About the Burberry brand
Burberry is an iconic British brand synonymous with innovation and craftsmanship. Founded in 1856, Burberry today remains quintessentially British, with outerwear at its core. By exploring unique brand innovations such as Burberry Acoustic, Art of the Trench and fully immersive runway shows, Burberry continues to innovate, connecting heritage with cutting-edge technology and digital media.
Christopher Bailey MBE Based in London under the direction of Chief Creative Officer Christopher Bailey, the brand has a global reputation for pioneering design and fabrics. After graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1994, the designer joined Donna Karan and Gucci before his appointment at Burberry in 2001. Christopher Bailey has a natural talent for fusing heritage and innovation and has given the label a new, modern direction without losing any of its incredible history. By choosing young, British talent to represent the brand he continually evolves and refreshes its image. Recent campaigns have featured Cara Delevingne, Eddie Redmayne, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and, most recently, Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge. The ad campaigns are shot by the celebrated Peruvian photographer, Mario Testino. In 2009, Bailey was voted Designer of the Year and honoured with an MBE for Services to the Fashion Industry. In 2013 he received an Honorary Doctorate from his former university, the Royal College of Art.
Spring/Summer 2015 Collection
Inspired by the Decorative Arts, the Burberry house offers a collection reflecting the history of the English identity that is influenced by the brand's DNA. Accessories are honoured this season, including a specific high quality of work on each piece. Grained leather, vibrant colours, a mixture of materials, floral motifs and Art Deco forms the basis of the collection. The famous House Check pattern is of course not neglected: for a simple touch or a total look, this legendary print adorns bags, wallets and scarves gracefully.
