Celine is the name of the founder of the brand, Céline Vipiana decided to launch her own brand of shoes for children with her husband in 1946 in Paris. In the 60s, the brand extends its territory with the launch of the collection of ready-to-wear in 1967. Fashion at Celine is a functional fashion, a materials work and subtle cuts. In the 70s, the brand is such that it exports all around the world. Today the brand can boast over a hundred points of sale around the world. From Celine Vipiana to Phoebe Philo, the brand offers a timeless wardrobe with a nonchalant elegance. Under the label of Phoebe Philo, the brand became the spearhead of a minimalist fashion marrying sleek and luxurious details, such as mix of materials, colors or textures.
Beloved by the press and the fashion community, Phoebe Philo is the big name behind the iconic Céline brand. Born in Paris and raised in London, she studied at the College of Central Martin Art and Design in London. She began her career working with young designers before joining Chloé house, first as assistant and then as a designer, with whom she remained for five years. Women of all awards, she will receive twice the price of the British Designer of the Year Award by the British Fashion Council in 2005 and 2010 and the award from the International Designer of the Year in 2011. Resolutely active woman, she took a break to raise her three children in London before being appointed artistic director of Celine in 2008. In the spring of 2009 that successfully present her first collection.
