Miu Miu

Fall-Winter 2017 is resolutely sixties at the fashion house Miu Miu: the Italian designer creates a silhouette midway between the pin-up baby doll dress and the Victorian librarian collar. True to its taste for mixes of prints and layering, Miuccia Prada broke the rules of good taste with humour, as well as crocodile leather and romantic lace that blend perfectly while retro mesh and leopard fabric absolutely slum it. The result is a collection full of retro inspirations and winks to the contemporary world.

Italian business woman, Miuccia Prada was born in 1949 in Milan. A feminist at heart, she obtained a degree in political science in 1973 and following studies of mime at the Piccolo di Milano theatre. In 1978, she joined Prada, the family brand founded by her grandfather, along with her husband, Patrizio Bertelli. The arrival of the couple allow Prada to create a strong development. The creative boldness and flare of Miuccia ground the collections in with the times and shape the world of fashion. Miuccia will be launching, for example, her first nylon line, an undeniable success. An intellectual woman with a resolutely rebellious spirit, Miuccia created Miu Miu in order to reach a more eccentric and free clientele.

Nicknamed the "little sister of Prada," the Miu Miu fashion house was launched in 1993 by Miuccia Prada the eponymous namesake. More eccentric, experimental and rebellious than Prada, Miu Miu has been winning from 1994 with the Best International Designer Award, which established its reputation in the fashion world. Ambassador of the brand, Vanessa Paradis greatly participates in the rise of Miu Miu. Originally, a fashion house of ready-to-wear for men and women, Miu Miu decided in 2008 to discontinue development of its male branch to focus on the international expansion and the launch of its e-commerce site.
