About the Brand
After graduating from her fashion design school, Sophie Hulme creates her eponymous brand. The designer is then known for her Charms line, which are small pendants attached to jewelry and handbags, which are vintage and refined. Now distributed in major stores worldwide, such as Selfridges, the brand gets prestigious collaborations with Nike, Casio or the English brand Globe-Trotter. Many it-girls love the designer’s offbeat humor, which brings a touch of lightness to her business. Unconventional but sophisticated, it's a winning combination that gently cultivates Sophie Hulme’s brand.
Born in North London, Sophie Hulme grows up in synch with the London culture. She studies fashion design at Kingston University and graduates in 2007, and voted best student of the year thanks to her very promising collection. At 23 years old and just two months after her graduation, the designer embarks on an adventure and decides to create her own brand: Sophie Hulme. Inspired by the masculine attitude, she brings a strong character to the urban women’s look, which turns into incredibly contemporary collections. The year 2012 is the epitome of success for the designer as she wins the award for the most promising English Designer.
Spring/Summer 2016 Collection
For Spring-Summer 2016, Sophie Hulme is inspired by the colorful David Hockney. From his famous pools of the 60s to his productions for the opera "The Rake's Progress" played in 1975, his collection borrow from aqueous summer shades of paint and nude tones, white and fuchsia. Timeless monochrome, geometric graphics and embroidered rollerblades characters in Swarovski crystals adorn the Albion, Barnsbury and Wilson models. Sophie Hulme plays with materials creating a transparent vinyl bag and creates a new model, the Darwin, with a delightful vintage style. The "pool party" collection is very successful.
