About the Azzaro brand
On the 12th of December 1968, a cover of the ELLE magazine brings the new designer at the top, with his dress created on wooden rings. The brand was set to become legendary.
Thanks to his wife, a model at the time, he created fanciful jewels. The success was immediate. He then went on to design beaded bags and dazzling lurex mini-tops. His creations won over Brigitte Bardot. In 1967 he opens his Couture House. During the ready-to-wear show organized at the Grand Hôtel, he presented eight spectacular outfits he had designed. He claimed that he wanted “to design dresses that women love wearing and men likes tearing them off”!
Loris Azzaro made silk jerseys falling sensually on the hips a centerpiece of its collections. Lurex mesh and chains is a key element of the house like the three ring dress, true icon that needs no introduction. Loris Azzaro detonates and surprises!
The greatest actresses adopt it: Romy Schneider, Claudia Cardinale, Sharon Stone and Nicole Kidman. He has the honour and pleasure to make costumes for Tina Turner. They love his sense of style and his refusal to stick to the constraints imposed by fashion “When a woman has found her style, she should stick to it. It is not beautiful by accident. We often forget that this is the dress that must serve the women and not the other way round” he said.
The timeless creations of Loris Azzaro still shine on red carpets all around the world. Loris Azzaro passed away in November 2003.
Franco-Brazilian, Mathilde Castello Branco was immersed in the world of art by her mother that was an artist. She knew from the age of 15 that she would be in the world of fashion. At 20, she arrived in Paris to draw her future: the school Duperré for the basics and artistic knowledge, and then workshop Chardon-Savard to refine her fashion senses. At the same time, she discovered the work of the workshops Kenzo, Sonia Rykiel, Lanvin ...
After a first experience at Hermes, under the direction of Martin Margiela, Matilda finds the Lavin fashion house, with the arrival of Alber Elbaz, for a rich and happy collaboration of ten years. Her project: the dress, the eternal feminine clothes, which appeals to both women and men.
Mathilde Castello Branco likes the work of materials, but the idea of transmitting a message through her creations. She already expresses desires of volumes, using challenging materials, to give a life to each "real" clothes, close to women desires. Besides, the Azzaro woman is a mix between elegance and sensuality, rooted in reality. A beautiful game in perspective.
This collection from Azzaro is a beautiful tribute to its namesake Loris Azzaro. While retaining the DNA of the brand and the glamour of the 70s, the collection has been injected with a contemporary streak. The silhouettes are sleek, elegant and full of sensuality. No doubt, the Azzaro woman is indeed the definition of glamour. The fabrics are draped to perfection, with flattering volumes, transparent and from time to time adorned with golden geometric chainmail. The looks are finished off with XXL clutches in leather, python or chainmail. The accessories truly turn up the volume on any outfit to bring the required note of chic glamour every woman demands.
