About the Escada brand
Escada was founded by Margaretha and Wolfgang Ley in 1978 in Munich. The company soon stood out, with its distinctive creations featuring unusual combinations of colours and patterns, exclusive embroidery and elaborately designed knitted fashions.
Escada knew a rapid success and continually extended its collections and its creative work. In 1994, the company launched the Escada Sport label, created its own accessory collection, including bags and shoes and granted major licences, collaborating with partners like Procter & Gamble. In 1996, Escada launched its first sunglasses line with a “sport-chic” style.
In 2007 the artist Stefan Szczesny created a new Escada collection in Saint-Tropez. They also developed a line for children.
The German Bettina Hammerl succeeded Damiano Biella as creative director. She was named as head of the creative team of the brand.
Bettina Hammerl used to be in charge of the management of the brand so that Ilka Bennett replaced her. She recently was named director of the Escada Sport lining and its licenses.
Bettina Hammerl has a personnel contact with fashion: “My fashion rule is: less is more”.
Bettina Hammerl worked previously for Jil Sander. She keeps celebrating the fashion codes of the house which praises ultra feminity.

Explore a whole new range of shapes and adjusted cuts. In it, we find the colors of the desert: amber, cactus and bamboo, while colorblock details contrast with the pastel colors of summer.
The accessories collection presents us with safari chic, in a pretty shade of beige and earth tones. Tortoiseshell details, the treatment of the leather and the worked handles, give rise to a collection of elegant and unique accessories.
