History
About the Gerard Darel brand
The brand’s adventure began in Paris in 1971, when the couple of Gerard and Danièle Darel decided to create the House of Gerard Darel. Located in the heart of Sentier, the first boutique opened in 1987 in Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
In 1996, Danièle acquired the famous Jacky Kennedy black pearl necklace in an auction, which was reproduced by the brand in several colors. This was a great success for the brand, leading to a report about Gerard Darel on CNN. From here, Gerard Darel began its meteoric rise.
The now iconic 24 Hours bag from Gerard Darel made its debut in 2005 to huge commercial success. In fact, it is so popular that one is sold every two minutes around the world.
With muses such as Charlotte Gainsbourg, Brooke Shields and Robin Wright, the brand is held in high regard as a symbol of chic elegance with the French touch.
