About the Michael Kors brand
The Michael Kors brand was founded in 1981.
It was initially sold only in Bergdorg Goodman and Saks. The success was immediate. His classic and classy style is appreciated by women of all ages. The brand was so successful that in the 2000s, it diversified. The first fragrance for women was launched in 2000.
In 2001 Michael Kors presented a range of accessories. After the success of his first men’s collection in 1997, he created in 2002 a full men's line. A second men's fragrance was created. Two years later a collection Michael by Michael Kors was launched. In 2006, Michael Kors received the FIFI award for best FIFI bath and body collection.
The New York fashion house is now one of the leading houses in the world of fashion.
Designer
After studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Michael Kors began as a fashion assistant in the famous Lothar company based in New York. He was 19 years old. The press quickly fell in love with him.
Seduced by his talent, many people encouraged him to create his own brand. In 1981, Michael Kors started creating on his own. The Michael Kors collections now includes clothes for men and women, swimwear, sportswear, fragrances, eyewear, watches, and more.
He was also the artistic director of the Celine house from 1997 to 2002.
