About the Ralph Lauren brand

Ralph Lauren has been created in 1967 with the launch of a collection of ties named Polo. Ralph Lauren is a big fan of sports that gives elegance and chic! These ties were different to the traditional models and they quickly became a must have. Ralph said: "At the time, people spoke through their ties. (...) A nice tie is possible to express quality, taste and style. "

In 1971, he launched a collection of ready-to-wear for women. Logo shaped polo player was used for the first time. The iconic Polo Ralph Lauren was born; the same year followed in the wake other brand references such as tweed jackets, denim shirts, or Oxford shirts.

The fashion house diversified and began in perfumery market. New lines of ready-to-wear are created: “Western wear” line that deals with the famous theme of cowboys, Purple Label line in 1994 with men's suits, Polo Jeans Co, which targets a younger clientele, in 1999, RALPH for girls 16 to 25 years old, the Blue Label line in 2002 for active and modern women.

Designer

Since 2010, Arthur Vallin works as artistic director for the Ralph Lauren house.

After studying graphic design at the ESAG Penninghen, he took the head of the artistic direction of the famous American brand. Therefore he benefits from the tremendous opportunity to make his beginnings in this well known fashion house.

He contributed to make the Ralph Lauren men elegant, dynamic and chic. Ralph Lauren is one of the essential wardrobe cloths for a modern and neat man, with various categories of products that adapts to both sports as business men.

Collection

For his collection, Ralph Lauren takes us back to postwar America in the 1920s. The American brand offers up a bit of sweetness and a mixture of the male and female wardrobe. The three-piece suit has never been more feminine nor the evening gowns more spectacular. Also done in the spirit of interchangeable gender styles are ties for women and baseball caps, but there are as well floral scarves and beaded necklaces with cloche hats.

The tones themselves are soft and feminine: pastel blue, coral, powder pink, lime green. Ralph Lauren has played a tender and sweet note which will surely be a hit with the modern woman!
